I'm Joana, an illustrator, author, and educator based in Hamburg, Germany.
My work combines a poetic visual language with a playful, slightly abstract approach, translating ideas, moods, and narratives into evocative, atmospheric images.
I have exhibited my work internationally, including at ESMOA (Los Angeles), and I’m part of the artist residency program Rim of Heaven, founded by Cornelia Funke.
Alongside my artistic practice, I teach as a lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences Hamburg (HAW) and have been invited as a keynote speaker by Adobe.
